New exhibition coming up in March, this time for the entire month of March at the Northampton Center for the Arts! There will be 2 floors full of great Graffiti art from Local and regional artists

There will be a formal reception on March 11th from 5pm to 8pm with DJ Krefting Spinning vinyl and a 7pm walk around hosted tour of the works

Pioneering Graffiti artist originally from NYC who has been active since the 1970's member of the Wlid Style crew credits Tracy 168 for getting him started and mentoring him, his work has amazing fluidity and include his name, you just gotta find it 🙂

EBIS is a graffiti Artist from the New Britain CT area. He started writing in 1991 and is still active, he has worked from NYC to MA and is active in the New Britain and Hartford, CT area. He enjoys painting for the freedom it gives him to express himself in his own style

VERY is a young writer from the Springfield area who has quickly grown his art, he draw his early inspiration from works he has seen around him growing up in the area and has developed his own style, he has works on canvas and in a sculptural style

JUST

JUST is originally from the Bronx NYC , he started writing in 1984 and is part of the early pioneering 80's New York City Graffiti Artist movement, his work then could be seen throughout the 5 boroughs, he later transitioned to working on canvas and subway maps, JUST currently lives in the pioneer valley and is still an active muralist and canvas artist, we are grateful that he brings his 37 years of writing passion and experience to our show, JUST is also a muralist and has recently completed a commission for a business in the Holyoke mall called the Pixelab

WOKE

WOKE came to be as a realization to the world around him. At the young age of 17, WOKE became a father when he was just a child himself. He realized that he needed to step up and be a single father to an awesome son…. that is exactly what he did. Through his love of graffiti, he provides for his family that has only become larger almost 20 years later. His passion, love for the art and constant strive to make himself better is how to this day he is WOKE. He works in many different mediums including canvas, old signs and scale trains.

ERKO is an artist from Puerto Rico and CT, he has been writing since 1996 and is still active, primarily works on canvas and murals, he enjoys incorporating pop culture characters in his works, he has exhibited and done group work from New Jersey to Puerto Rico and is still "dando fuego"

SHIE ROCK is from the Pittsfield area, SHIE started writing in 2006 and is still currently active, his work includes painting on canvas and has expanded to other materials like repurposed slate roof shingles also enjoys long walks on the beach

ROC7 / ISM has been a writer since 1982 and is currently active, he is originally from the Bronx New York and currently resides in western MA, ROC7 is from the early generation of writers whose resume is extensive, an original member of the WildStyle crew from which the wildstyle style of graffiti writing originated from, ROC7 is also an Abstract artist that has evolved from his graffiti work

LESN101 was born in Ohio and moved to the Springfield area as a child, growing up he was influenced by the local Graff scene and started getting involved as a writer in early 1990's, after an almost 10 year hiatus due to a personal loss LESN101 is back, reinvigorated with a new motivation and passion expanding into the abstract art form also starting the anti-graffiti task force movement
